ART SERIES
Rite (Series of 3 images) is a site-responsive photographic work capturing a solitary figure emerging from the ocean, wrapped in a translucent soft painting marked with the Fluid Loop motif. The shrouded figure appears to crawl onto land — an act of arrival, vulnerability, and survival. The ocean becomes both threshold and origin, a liminal space between past and future, memory and becoming.
The work explores themes of displacement, diaspora, and belonging, evoking the long histories of bodies crossing water in search of safety, identity, or renewal. In Rite, the act of emergence is desperate, elemental, and deeply human. The soft painting — weathered, clinging, and marked by the artist’s signature symbol of cyclical interconnectedness — serves as both skin and offering, a gesture of continuity across time and place.
This visual ritual is a humbling return to earth — a symbolic act of reconnection between humanity and the Earth. Rooted in the artist’s ongoing exploration of nature as co-author and collaborator, Rite invites reflection on the tension between migration and rootedness, fragility and resilience. It gestures toward a shared sense of belonging and the possibility of one humanity, reminding us that every arrival carries echoes of what has been left behind — and hope of a good future.
