Circularity brings together a new body of paintings and three photographic works exploring process, perception and transformation.
The circle recurs as both form and field of possibility—suggesting return, repetition and change. Across the paintings, Christie-Coxon establishes conditions through which gravity, evaporation, viscosity, pressure and duration participate in the work’s formation. The resulting surfaces record processes that are initiated but never entirely controlled.
Fluid loop paintings include the Cracked Series, where fracture emerges through material behaviour and time. An Ancient Moon diptych and Psyche extend the enquiry through photography, light and perception.
Throughout Circularity, apparent opposites coexist: control and surrender, order and disruption, permanence and impermanence, certainty and ambiguity.
The work is neither controlled nor left to chance. It emerges through relationship.

PERIPHERAL SILENCE — FINALIST

In Peripheral Silence discarded tyres accumulate at the edges of our lives, forming silent reservoirs of toxicity. Globally, over one billion tyres reach end-of-life each year, many stockpiled or abandoned where regulation and oversight are thin. These forms do not disappear. They leach heavy metals, synthetic chemicals, and microplastic particles into surrounding soil and groundwater, slowly contaminating the ecosystems they inhabit. With time, they fragment, entering waterways and food systems, extending their reach far beyond their point of discard.
Highly flammable, tyre dumps carry the latent threat of fire — events that can burn for weeks, releasing dense plumes of toxic smoke and carcinogenic residue into air, land, and bodies. What appears inert is in fact active, persistent, and cumulative.
The figure stands beside the problem within the same system that produced it. There is no outside to this landscape.

ART IN MOTION — THE I.C.E. ART SHOW

Christie-Coxon participated in Art in Motion, an international exhibition presented alongside The I.C.E. St. Moritz. Bringing together Swiss and international artists, the exhibition explored movement across art, design and material culture within the distinctive landscape and cultural context of the Engadin.
CARBON CIRCLE IN THE ENGADIN
Engadin, Switzerland

Carbon Circle is an ephemeral, site-responsive land work created with horticultural charcoal on snow in the Engadin. Subject to snowfall, thaw and seasonal change, the work was conceived to disappear and potentially re-emerge before the charcoal ultimately returned to the soil. The project extends Christie-Coxon’s enquiry into material cycles, ecological consequence and return.

WHEATBELT — FINALIST
Mid West Art Prize 2025

Set in a rare pocket of untouched bushland in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt, this video artwork explores the tension between cultivation and ecological survival. Flour — a symbol of agriculture and human cultivation — is laid as a fragile gesture across an ancient granite outcrop, a site spared from ploughing only by the resistance of stone. The act marks a threshold between what endures when land is left untouched, and what is erased when value is defined solely by use. This site responsive ephemeral work becomes a meditation on humanity’s relationship with Nature, survival, and remembrance beyond extraction.

Christie-Coxon participated in the international Les Nuits des Forêts initiative through the Artists in Nature International Network. The project brings together site-responsive artistic practices developed in and with forest environments, considering the forest not simply as subject or setting, but as an active participant in the creative process.

Bringing together 40 international artists, the exhibition explored evolving relationships between art and the natural world. Christie-Coxon’s work was presented alongside artists including Giuseppe Penone, Not Vital, Mattia Bosco, Barbara Chase-Riboud, Kimsooja and Jannis Kounellis.
Christie-Coxon presented painting, photography, video and a Soft Painting installation, culminating in the site-responsive work Botanic Halo.

Caroline Christie-Coxon and Christophe Canato brought together two practices exploring metamorphosis, transformation and states of becoming. Christie-Coxon’s fluid, process-driven works engaged with materiality and elemental change, while Canato’s layered photographic collages explored fragmented identities and the body in transition.
Together, the works created a dialogue around dissolution and emergence, vulnerability, transformation and regeneration.

Christie-Coxon was included in the international group exhibition Tendre est la nuit alongside artists including Alicja Kwade, Eva Grubinger, Gregor Hildebrandt, Jorinde Voigt, Isa Melsheimer and Thomas Zitzwitz.
Her work was curated in dialogue with sculptural works by Eva Grubinger and Una Szeemann, creating connections across distinct approaches to materiality, natural materials, light and perception.
